Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Beean, the coffee-shop rating and discovery app for iOS ("Beean", "we", "us"). By signing in to Beean you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Who can use Beean
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Beean with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. Beean is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow them to create accounts.
2. Your account
You sign in through Apple or Google. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity on your account. You may only create one account per person.
You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account inside the app. Deletion is immediate and removes your profile, ratings, comments, hearts, saved cafes, friendships, and shared-location data.
3. Your content
Beean is a social app for sharing coffee-shop ratings and related content ("user content"). You own your user content.
By posting user content to Beean you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, and deliver it to the friends you've added - only for the purpose of operating the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we are required by law to retain it briefly (see the Privacy Policy for retention details).
You represent that you own or have the right to post what you upload and that it does not violate anyone else's rights.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, dox, or abuse other users.
- Post content that is illegal, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or contains hate speech.
- Impersonate other people or organisations.
- Spam, scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to break Beean's security.
- Use Beean to collect or infer other users' locations beyond what they have explicitly chosen to share with you.
- Post content that infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights.
- Upload malware, exploits, or other harmful code.
We may remove content that violates these rules and suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly do so.
5. Reporting and blocking
Every rating and comment has a Report action. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours; content that violates these terms will be removed. You can also Block any user from their profile or their comments - blocked users cannot see your content or send you friend requests.
6. Location sharing
Sharing your live location with friends is off by default. When you turn it on, your approximate position is uploaded to our backend so the friends you've added can see you on their map. You can turn sharing off at any moment; we delete the stored location immediately. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.
7. Availability and changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue any feature of Beean. We'll try to give advance notice for material changes that affect your data. We're a solo developer operation - we do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be surfaced in-app.
8. Intellectual property
Beean's name, logo, design, and original copy are owned by us. You may not use them without permission. All map data is © Mapbox and © OpenStreetMap contributors. Third-party coffee-shop names and addresses remain the property of their respective owners.
9. Termination
You may stop using Beean and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, or if we are required to do so by law. On termination, the licence in section 3 ends, and we will delete your data per the Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
Beean is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that coffee-shop data is accurate, that the service will be error-free, or that content posted by other users is truthful. Coffee-shop ratings are subjective opinions.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profit, or goodwill arising from your use of Beean. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms will not exceed GBP 10 or the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, UK, or California, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction.
